Today's Learning Target: Students will be able to locate people, places, and things throughout the world. Students will understand how humans impact the environment and vice versa. Students will be well informed members of society and will be able to formulate educated opinions on global, national, and local issues.

Circle: If you were a famous actor/actress, what genre of movies would you star in?

World Issues Project: We will spend the first 15 minutes of class today deciding which world issue we want to do a project on and then doing research and taking notes on that topic. Remember: You need 10 different sets of notes. So ten different days you need to take notes and date those notes.

Longitude and Latitude Practice: Students will be using these three websites for practice with using longitude and latitude. Site A   Site B   Site C      For more practice and studying, use the study guide at the bottom of the page.   Note: It is very important for the quiz that you know the difference between Absolute and Relative location.

World Continents Practice: Remember, in order to be successful on the upcoming quiz, you have to be able to locate all of the continents so you know which map to turn to! For a refresher on the continents go to this website.

When students are done with these practice game: When/if students feel confident for the quiz and are done with the study games, they will work on their 10 places that are important.


Quiz Next Class!!!! Period 8 will be having their quiz on Friday and Periods 1 & 2 have theirs on Monday. Please use this study guide along with this answer sheet to help study for the quiz as well as using those online study games.

Note: The quiz will be set up in a very similar format to the questions on the study guide. It is critical for this quiz that you know the difference between Absolute and Relative location.
