Continents & Oceans: Students will be working individually to locate the 7 continents, 5 oceans, and 5 major countries on a blank map.

Specialty Maps: Students will be working in groups to identify what different specialty maps are showing, and what they can prove using the information from the maps.

5 Themes Practice Test: We will be working through the five themes practice test together as a class.

Note Cards: Students will be making note cards to prepare for the upcoming test.

Major Countries Game: Students will be working in teams to find the major countries of the world the fastest.

5 Themes Practice Test: We will be working through the five themes practice test together as a class.

Kahoot: We will be playing a Kahoot as a class to study for the Five Themes of Geography test. 

Partner Up: Each student will grab a piece of paper with a random word on it. Their goal is to find the other person in the room with the same word. Once students are paired up, they will ask each other the question of the round. The last group to find each other has to share out each others answers.

Mapping: We will be talking about the differences between types of maps and what their uses are. Physical, Political, and Special Purpose maps will be included.

Movement: We will be doing an introduction and note taking on Movement. We will then be doing a group activity looking at what Maine imports and exports.

Region: We will be doing an introduction and note taking on Region. We will then be doing a group activity looking at all the possible regions in Maine.

Human/Environment: We will be doing an introduction and note taking on Human/Environment Interaction. We will then be doing a group activity looking at how people in Maine interact with their environment.

Seating Chart Activity: Students will be working together in groups to research and discuss the ways that 9/11 still impacts us today. This is a great article to read!

Writing: Students will be writing a paragraph arguing the 3 most important ways they think America has changed as a result of 9/11.

Movement: We will be doing an introduction and note taking on Movement. We will then be doing a class activity looking at what Maine imports and exports.

Circle: What is your favorite season and why?

Student Interviews: You will be interviewing one of your fellow classmates and then reporting out their answers. There will be two rounds, questions 1,2,3 will be asked in the first round and questions 1,4,5 will be the second round.
The questions will be:
- Whats your name?
- What town are you from?
- What's your favorite movie?
- How many pairs of shoes do you own?
- If you were a superhero, what power would you have?

Mapping the World: I will be projecting a blank world map up on the wall. We will be working together as a class to fill in the map. We will then have a class competition where students will be paired into teams and compete to find locations on the map the fastest.

Five Themes: I will be introducing the five themes of geography. I will be explaining to the class what each of the five themes is and why it's important. Students will then work together in groups to describe Maine using the five themes of geography. Learning Target: Students will be working to build a classroom community. Students will be able to identify major landmarks on a map.

Circle: If you could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Learning Targets: We will be talking about what a learning target is and what impact it has on our classroom.

Birthday Lineup: Students will be attempting to lineup according to their birthdays without talking or writing. They will then attempt to lineup in alphabetical order by last names.

Mapping Pretest: Students will be working individually to complete a pretest over world, regional, and local mapping.

Tower Building: Students will be given toothpicks and marshmallows. In their small groups, students will work together to try and be the group with the tallest free standing tower after 10 minutes.

Reflection: If you had the chance to do the tower building competition again, what would you do differently and why?

Exit Ticket: What is one thing you are excited about for high school and what is one thing you are nervous about?
