Friday December 7, 2018 & December 10, 2018

Learning Target: Students will be well informed members of society and will be able to formulate educated opinions on global, national, and local issues. Students will know and understand the physical and human geography of Europe. Students will understand current issues that Europe is facing. Students will understand the basic forms of government and where they came from. 

Circle: Would you rather be able to detect any lie your hear or get away with any lie you tell? Which type of government that we've talked about so far is the most effective?


World Issues: You will have ten minutes to work on your World Issues Projects.

Ancient Greek Governments: In this unit we will be focusing on the Ancient Greeks and Ancient Romans and be looking at the different forms of government that they used. Today, we will be looking at the Monarchy in Thebes. We will also be discussing what a Tyrant or Tyranny is as well as a Republic. 

We will be talking about:
Monarchy vs Tyranny
Kingdom vs Empire
King vs Emperor
King/Emperor vs Dictator

We will then be talking about a Republic and the restraints it puts on a government.
