Learning Target: Students will know and understand what the eight physical features are of Africa.
Circle: What's the farthest you've ever been from home?
World Issues Project: You will have 20 minutes to work on your World Issues Projects.
African Physical Geography: You will have 15 minutes to finish this up from last class.
You will be going to newsela.com to read an article that talks about each of the eight physical regions of Africa. When you are done reading, you are going to find an image on the internet for each of the physical regions and give a short blurb as to why you think this image does such a great job of representing that region.
The Africa Stereotype: After completing the newsela article, we will be talking about what kind of stereotypes we just proved false about Africa.
Google Earth: Your goal is going to be to map out the eight regions of Africa using the article you read from newsela as well as using Google Earth. Remember to use a different color for each of the 8 regions.
